Jim is leaning back against the Bar.

He appears to be casually nursing the drink in his hand.

"Noted," he says, and picks it up easily.

Sherlock is stronger than he looks, although he doesn't often bother to show it.

Jim flicks a casual glance over, making note of this.

Getting Jim into the dress is only half the job; there's a long row of buttons up the back that need attending to.

He buttons them up carefully, one by one, and then rests his hands lightly on Jim's shoulders and looks him over in the mirror.

"You're a vision," he pronounces.

"It's a start."

The dress fits correctly now. It's also had a bit of alteration, with some subtle padding added to fill out his figure a little more and give the illusion that the corset is more tightly-laced than it really is.

The wig, makeup, and shoes will be the easy part. He's dealt with all those before. Once he's put them on, and learnt what he needs to about the appropriate mannerisms from Irene, he'll be indistinguishable from any other woman on the street in her London.

Cheerfully, "Now can I touch you?"

Jim's expression turns very solemn. Almost excessively so.

"Now," he says, "I'd like to experiment with the level of vigorous activity I can maintain in a corset."

He turns around and presses close to Sherlock, reaching up to wind his arms around Sherlock's neck.

"If you can work out a mutually satisfying way to assist me in that without touching me, I'll be very impressed."

"Oh, why did you have to phrase that as a challenge," he says, grinning.

And although Sherlock himself is only moderately chilly, frost forms on Jim's cheek when he breathes there.

Jim closes his eyes.

"Because it's more fun that way."

[wearsthecoats]

"It's the 'mutually satisfying' part that's going to be difficult," he murmurs, exhaling icy air onto Jim's forehead.

"But not very difficult, I don't think."

Jim scoffs.

"Please, you're already enjoying yourself."

He didn't say anything about mutual physical satisfaction.

[wearsthecoats]

"Oh, yes. But not in a way I would call satisfying. 'Tantalizing' might be more accurate."

[searchingfordistraction]

"Now you're just being pedantic."

But if he's planning to be difficult, Jim will just have to head that off at the pass. To that end, he pulls Sherlock down for a kiss.

The distinction is very important!



But not as important as wrapping his arms around Jim's waist and kissing him thoroughly, at a temperature that hovers just above freezing.

Jim wraps his hands in Sherlock's hair, leaning up into the kiss.

He has to break to breathe entirely too soon for his taste.

Sherlock kisses his forehead.

"You know," he comments, "I'd thought that the minute I got you into the dress I'd want to get you out of it again, but I am finding that is not the case."

He would much rather have Jim in the dress as long as it is still remotely feasible for him to stay that way. Even if this means that the majority of Jim's body is off-limits for frostbite.

"What a surprise."

Jim does not sound surprised. He also does not sound displeased by this development.

He does sound as though the effect of the feminine silhouette is well on its way to being ruined.

With one arm still around Jim's waist, he brings his other hand up to wrap around the back of Jim's neck. Cold, but no frost; it would ruin the collar.

So thoughtful of him.

"Practically speaking," Jim murmurs, "the dress will have to come off sooner or later, but you can fuck me in the corset if you'd like."

Jim can be very practical when occasion calls for it.

The bustle, no matter the position, would only get in the way.

[wearsthecoats]

"Definitely," Sherlock breathes, and kisses him again.

This time, he is much colder. But he manages not to frost over, even so.

(He's been practicing.)

He can feel the amount of practice that's gone into that.

It's almost disappointing, in a way. The unpredictable element to Sherlock's temperature was half the fun before.

On the other hand, now he can be ever so much more selective about exactly which parts of Jim he freezes.

And there will be every opportunity to try to induce unintended fluctuations.
